Instructor Amy Beidleman Years ago Amy became smitten with watercolor painting when she saw Winslow Homer’s work in a collection of greeting cards, notably “The Blue Boat”. She is intrigued by the transformation of a blank piece of paper into a painted space, and she strives to take the observer to a similar sense of place and feeling. The love of the outdoors is evident in Amy’s paintings.

Amy is not only a successful and accomplished painter she is also a veteran teacher. She  volunteers as the Water Media Curator for the Aspen Chapel Gallery.  She has studied with Alvaro Castagnet, where she learned the joy of being able to do two loves at once - painting while being outside or plein-air painting. She has also studied with well-known watercolorists Andy Evansen, Thomas Schaller, and local painters, Tania Dibbs and Tammie Lane.
