About the Camp
How do bees build hives? How are trees used to create homes for forest animals and plants? How do animals and plants work together to build protective, nurturing environments? In this nature- and design-inspired camp, students will explore the ecosystems of Hallam Lake and use their discoveries as inspiration for creative building and artmaking at the Red Brick Center for the Arts.
Each day, campers will investigate natural structures, patterns, and survival strategies with hands-on exploration at Hallam Lake and beyond. In the art studio, they will transform their observations into imaginative sculptures, shelters, and mixed-media artworks using natural and recycled materials. Campers will experiment with building techniques, texture, and form, while learning how design in nature serves a purpose, from protection and camouflage to cooperation and growth.
