Resident Artists

Meet the talent at the Red Brick.

Lorraine Davis

Studio 109

Lorraine received a dual major BFA in Illustration/Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1985. After working professionally for 20 years she turned to oil painting, her passion. In 2000, she refined her career in traditional oil painting by attending the Art Students League in New York and the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey.

Upon moving to Aspen, Colorado in 2011, she immersed herself in the local artistic community. She was a Resident Artist at The Red Brick Center for the Arts from 2013 – 2021. Upon departing, she continued to teach the Masterpiece Mine class, as well as the Open Figure Drawing class, two programs she created in February 2014.

Says Lorraine about what inspires her and how she feels about her return, "My artistic talent has been a way of life for me since I was able to put crayon to paper. This passion, along with teaching, has become a life-long pursuit. I am excited to return as a Resident Artist in Betty Wiess' original Studio #109. It is an honor and a privilege.”
