About the Session

Join us at the Red Brick Center for the Arts for fun and social art-making evenings. Whether you have art experience or not, come create during our evening sessions and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or beer.

In this December session participants will bring ideas or use a pre-designed block to print a set of festive holiday cards.

Participants must be 21 years of age or older.

Linoleum block printing, also known as lino printing or linocut, is a versatile printmaking technique that involves:

  • Carving images and designs into linoleum blocks.

  • Inking the carved blocks.

  • Pressing them onto paper to achieve a printed image.

  • No two images turn out the same, the only limit is your creativity!

Linocut, also known as lino print, lino printing or linoleum art, is a printmaking technique, in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for a relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show the areas to be printed.

Cost

$25 per session, per person; all supplies are included.

The Red Brick Center for the Arts is conveniently located just two blocks away from the RFTA bus stop on Garmisch Street.
