Sue Tatem: Winter Landscapes
January 16 - February 27, 2020
Please join for a gallery opening reception January 16, 5-7pm
Red Brick Arts is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Sue Tatem. Sue is a former Red Brick Resident Artist and an active member of the Gallery Committee. After retiring from a long, successful tenure as a Biology professor, Sue focused her time on learning to paint, much through self-taught efforts.
Sue states, “the foundation of my art is my "landscapes." I like painting outdoors in the "studio of mother nature" and even manage to do plein air painting in winter on sunny days from about 11 am to 1 pm when it was warm enough to strip off my gloves and some layers. Most of my work is small enough to fit in my car, 3x4 feet or less, but to paint larger works I combined multiple canvases into larger panoramas. I am very pleased to have a chance to show these larger works as well as many smaller ones at the Red Brick.”
